The BLOB (Binary Large Object) feature is still in the preliminary design phase.
Other valuable features of 2.2.0 have already been added including layering support, and the message-streaming API changes. In addition some rather important bug fixes have been added, specifically I'm referring to the fix for MS Excel CSV format bug, but there are many others also. I'm not suggesting 2.2.0 is ready for release quite yet. We should get the work on separators and separator-suppression into it, which is still in review and will take a bit more work. I'm suggesting that adding another major new feature to it is unwise. Discussion? -mike beckerle
