- This is a patch release to fix a bug found in the Theta Sketch compression algorithm in release 7.0.0. - This version of DataSketches-java leverages the new Panama (FFM) incubation capability introduced with Java 17 (JEP 412 <https://openjdk.org/jeps/412>). As a result, this version requires Java 17 for both compile and run-time and you will need to add "--add-modules=jdk.incubator.foreign" flag to the JVM. 1. This is a call for vote to release Apache DataSketches-java candidate version: 7.0.1-RC1. NOTE 1: This is the core Java component of the DataSketches library that includes all the sketch algorithms in production-ready packages. These sketches can be called directly from this component or used in conjunction with the adapter components such as Hadoop Pig, Hadoop Hive, the aggregator adapters built into Apache Druid, etc. 2.
