Thank you for the feedback! I've submitted PR #87 implementing Option A (pre-compute offset). I also learned a lot from the discussion about endianness and cross-platform compatibility in the Rust issue - it's a great insight into the project's design philosophy. I'm a newcomer to open source contributions. I noticed the Rust implementation has been gaining momentum with some great contributors recently, which inspired me to try contributing to the Go version since it's the language I'm most familiar with.
