The Bibliographic project has plans store its bibliographic data in XML format and to use xslt style-sheets to produce the Bibliographic tables and to format the bibliographic citations. We have a test model of this working against bibliographic data in flat xml files and xml data in the eXist XML database.
(See http://bibliographic.openoffice.org/citeproc/index.html for details) It would seem likely that an XML database offers several advantages in terms of data management and performance with large datasets. Has their been any consideration of providing XML database support into OOo? Is it feasible to build a OOo database driver to an xml database ? or is the database driver structure inherently SQL based? regards David -- ------------------- David N.
