the driver is working with OOo1.1 und preOOo2.0 and is still maintained
by me (though I haven't done anything on it for some months now).

there are several issues, I think the most important ones are
1) integration of the driver into OOo
2) serial support on data insertion on tables without oids (could be
done using the currval() function, but will involve a lot of work)

as beta quality, as beside one certain crash, there are no more known
bugs anymore at the moment).

:-). Only to a very limited degree, as I have only lets say about 20
hours per month available, which I could invest on this topic.
If you want some results within a resonable time span and the amount of
money is not the problem [ :-) ], you might consider contacting Sun
(Frank?), they certainly have or could quite easily build up the
knowledge to support the driver.
If the latter is not an option and your customer can live with the other
limitation, you can put them in touch with me.
