Hello,
This is a follow-up on G. Roderick Singleton's cc to this list of my
recent questions about using Base to manage Access database files (MDB
files).
I need to maintain back-end data on a web site built with ASP and Access.
I was directed to the
mdb-sdbc-driver-0.1.0
project here, and thus to the mdbtools project.
It appears that the mdb-sdbc-driver-0.1.0 together with the 0.6 beta of
mdbtools might enable me to write to MDB files using Base.
Is this true?
If so, what I need to know next is summed up below:
The mdb-sdbc-driver-0.1.0 page (at
http://dba.openoffice.org/drivers/mdb/index.html ) says it uses mdbtools.
It also says:
"The driver currently is implemented using the patched MDBTOOLS v0.5."
So is it going to work with the newer 0.6 beta of mdbtools?
If so, how do I put it all together?
If not - are there any other options for write access to MDB files via
Base, or via anything else I can run on a linux-based (debian
stable/sarge) development system?
Thanks,
John S.
