Hello,

In the below instructions for installing a new version of OO, the final
step says, "Install any language packs needed for OpenOffice.org". The
way it is worded, it sounds like language packs may or may not be
needed. Are they needed? Where do I find those?

------------------------------------
Debian-based Installation
  Installing .debs
The simplest way to install the OpenOffice.org package you've
downloaded is use the
command dpkg -i (short for dpkg –install).
     1. First log on as root or from the GUI, open a root terminal.
     2. Type:
         dpkg -i -–force-overwrite openoffice.org*.deb \
          desktop-integration/openoffice.org-debian-menus*.deb
and openoffice.org will be installed. If you already had an
older version, dpkg will
upgrade it rather than installing both versions at once.
     3. Install any language packs needed for OpenOffice.org.
----------------------------------

I have full SCIM installed in my computer including special fonts for
Hindi, and particular Hindi setups installed in SCIM. I also have full
Spanish language and Spanish spell-checking installed and enabled. Are
these setups part of my personal configuration that will therefore
transfer over to the 2.3 install during the upgrade? Or is this all
going to be abolished and I shall have to install it all anew?

Thanks,
Swarup
