Hello OO Base dev team,

Congrats on a great product. I keep looking in on you guys from time to time
to see how its all progressing. Base is quickly becoming a seriously good
product. My humble opinion is that this is because Base is being designed as
an alternative to a seriously good (often maligned and vastly under-rated)
product (i.e. MS Access).

One of the most useful features of the MS Access client is its ability to link
to multiple tables from multiple databases across multiple platforms into the
one DB client. This allows the MS Access user to write queries (and reports)
across multiple databases and platforms. For instance if a user wants to write
a query using a table in one MySQL database, with another table in another
MySQL database, across another table in an Oracle database, referenced against
a user's own Access table... well it can be done quite quickly and easily using
Access's "Link Tables..." command under the "File-Get External Data" menu.

The only alternative in Base is to link to each of the DBs one at a time,
export the data from the source and then upload into Base. This is a much
longer process and not appropriate in some more time critical circumstances.

This functionality will, in my opinion, make Base a very serious competitor to
Access, leapfrog Base ahead of many other desktop DB pretenders and ensure that
Base is a very major contributor to the strength of the OO suite.

Good luck,
