Hi, Just a quick heads-up before flying to Rome on Friday. Slides largely based on the ones from Budapest have been ready for a while. Unless anybody has suggestions or a new page they'd like to see presented, it is ready and after codemotion I'd either upload them to SlideShare or the conference offers them on their site.
I can't say if I have enough time and HD space to install VS 2013 CE on my own laptop, but I'm working with VS quite a bit here on a Windows Embedded solution calling Java API/Services, so I brushed up DeviceMapConsole with an official icon. And found especially this bug https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DMAP-151 Expecting to fix it in both .NET apps before the conference. So if there's not enough time to show all the .NET code live in Visual Studio, I might at least offer a peek trough an editor or quote in the slides plus run either the C# or VB console on my own box, too. Will check the live demo on the Apache VM on a device of mine later. Please those who manage it, should it be down, kindly restart it. It adds much value to the UX of the audience if they can try it on their own apps. Even though we so far have no fully fledged rendering examples that show e.g. a different HTML5 canvas on different devices. Guess something for the wishlist in JIRA and 2.x releases also of the demos. .NET has one big advantage, the DeviceMap client and DeviceMapConsole are separated into 2 distinct Windows artifacts, not baked into the same EXE;-) Werner On Fri, Feb 20, 2015 at 3:34 PM, Werner Keil <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > Happy to announce, my DeviceMap talk was accepted by codemotion Rome 2015: > http://rome2015.codemotionworld.com/conference/22/ > > Check out prior slides as mentioned earlier (can't open SlideShare here) > and please everyone who participates in new ideas for future data format, > etc. send suggested updates, ideally in Powerpoint or OpenOffice format > already no later than March 16 (that gives enough time to incorporate it > into the slides, a lot of them are ready anyway;-) > > It has not been officially announced here, but seems Budapest was > appreciated by Apache and Linux Foundation, so I read when looking for my > old presentation, ACE 2015 is also planned there: > http://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/apachecon-europe/program/about > > Will check with the Portal or Tamaya folks (some were there already) but > since JavaOne won't be until the end of October this year, it seems a > proper date for me again.
