Hi Ugo!
I tried to retest DIREVE-216, which is the same problem as yours is.
I added a new method to the test cases (class org.apache.ldap.server.jndi.ModifyContextTest) which checks my problem. With Alex changes (I checked out the newest version from svn) it disappeard. But I am not sure how characteristic the methods in ModifyContextTest really are. Do they also check the partition implementation?
First I thought, the version you downloaded is not an updated one (Alex changed not applied, or so).
But I have also still some problems with adding attributes to entries, although my original defect disappeared (or the behaviour changed at least). I am new to Apache DS as well. Maybe, I made a mistake will building the software. Need to check the situation in detail.
Unfortunatly, I have to do some other stuff first. But I hope I will be able to place some JNDI examples in JIRA which document my problems in detail.
Greetings from Hamburg,
Stefan
