Ole, This is the clearest email I've read from you in a while ... must be the vacation coming through or you can't type as fast as you think :).
Regardless this all sounds toight! I'm ready for it :). Thanks, Alex On 3/3/07, Ole Ersoy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Just got back from Vacation. Almost too relaxed to type, but I'll give it a shot. JPackage is out. Long story. However, I hope to finish up an RPM Factory that will create an RPM mirror of the entire Maven Repository this week. Then once all the dependencies that ApacheDS uses are RPMed, a main installer RPM can be created that has the same dependencies as the maven build. OK - So when installing ApacheDS someone just types yum install ApacheDS This will fetch the main installer RPM. Then yum looks at it's dependencies at gets them all, and all of the libraries are installed in /usr/share/java ... I think...anyways the same FHS compliant directory that jpackage would install them in. The classloader configuration of the main server installer will then be updated to load the libraries from there. Then it's done I think. Questions? Thoughts?
