Only show referral handling dialog when opening or expanding referral entry

When expanding a container the user is prompted to handle any referral
children. In almost all cases I don't want to do anything with the referral
entry - it just happens to be in the same container as another entry I am
looking for. It gets a bit annoying to have to cancel this dialog all the
time! It would be nice if a temporary referral entry was added to the tree
instead and the referral handling dialog was only shown when this referral
entry is opened or expanded.
