Stefan Seelmann commented on DIR-267:
-------------------------------------

For the project, the server, and studio I propose the following changes,
feedback highly welcomed.

Apache Directory Project:

Proposed changes:
- use ApacheDS as primary name

Short description (used as HTML title and DOAP short description):
Apache Directory - LDAP and Kerberos, entirely in Java

Long description (used on directory.apache.org and as DOAP long description):
The Apache Directory project provides directory solutions entirely written in
Java. These include a directory server, which has been certified as LDAP v3
compliant by the Open Group (ApacheDS), and Eclipse-based directory tools
(Apache Directory Studio).

Apache Directory Server:

Proposed changes:
- use ApacheDS as primary name
- remove 'v1.5' in short description
- add 'Kerberos' in short description
- add 'extensible and ' in long description

Short description (used as HTML title and as DOAP short description):
ApacheDS - An extensible, embeddable LDAP and Kerberos server, entirely in Java

Long description (used on directory.apache.org and as DOAP long description):
ApacheDS is an extensible and embeddable directory server entirely written in
Java, which has been certified LDAPv3 compatible by the Open Group. Besides
LDAP it supports Kerberos 5 and the Change Password Protocol. It has been
designed to introduce triggers, stored procedures, queues and views to the
world of LDAP which has lacked these rich constructs.

Apache Directory Studio:

Proposed changes:
- lower-case 'directory' in short descritpion
- removed 'the' before 'ApacheDS' in long description

Short description (used as HTML title and as DOAP short description):
Apache Directory Studio - The Eclipse based LDAP browser and directory client

Long description (used on directory.apache.org and as DOAP long description):
Apache Directory Studio is a complete directory tooling platform intended to be
used with any LDAP server however it is particularly designed for use with
ApacheDS. It is an Eclipse RCP application, composed of several Eclipse (OSGi)
plugins, that can be easily upgraded with additional ones. These plugins can
even run within Eclipse itself.
