Aleks M commented on DIRSTUDIO-887:
-----------------------------------

Hello, I don't have a browserconnections.xml in that directory.
My files in that directory were named connections.xml-temp and
connectionsFolders.xml-temp
I renamed them to just .xml and started ADS.
It renamed connections.xml to connections.xml-temp and after quiting ADS it is
still named -temp.
My searches are not being saved.

I tried to create an empty browserconnections.xml file but it didn't help.
I Process Monitor I can see that ADS is trying to create a file named
browserconnections.xml-temp but it's getting ACCESS DENIED.

> Where are the saved searches stored?
> ------------------------------------
>
> Key: DIRSTUDIO-887
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-887
> Project: Directory Studio
> Issue Type: Question
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M5
> Environment: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Java 7u15
> Reporter: Aleks M
> Priority: Minor
>
> My entire Windows user profile is stored on Windows server file share, which
> means that the .ApacheDirectoryStudio is placed there as well.
> I have a problem where all the searches I have performed during a session are
> gone when I restart ADS.
> Under which directory does ADS store the searches? And when does ADS write
> the searches to disk?
> I want to investigate what happens using Process Monitor.
