Hello,

I'm struggling with Apache DS (LDAP in general). I have read a few of the RFCs concerning LDAP and installed the Apache DS and Apache Directory Studio. Now I have defined an two attribute types and an own object class which consists of single valzues entries of my types and a single value attribute of a predefined type. These attribute types and object class have been added to the cn=others,ou=schema directory.

I also created a new partition. Now I want to have a directory whose entries must have the MUST attributes defined my new object class. But I failed to do so. I got different error messages such as "OBJECT CLASS VIOLATION" which I were able to solve by modyfiying the LDIF file I import. But I'm not able to get my directory configured such that its entries must conform to my object class and I'm stuck.

Please provide me with the information required to configure my directory accordingly. Reading an additional book about LDAP and the Apache DS User Guide did not help me hence please do not just point to that documentation. Furthermore discussion about the need to define an own object class does not address the problem so please do not argue about that.

With regards
Sebastian
