First, I'm the maintainer of MyVD and its probably best to move this

No, MyVD is a reverse proxy for LDAP so it would be:

                                                    ------> AD
application --> LDAP --> MyVD--|
                                                    ------> ApacheDS

Depending on what you are trying to do the join insert can be used to
combine the directories.
