I now also tested on my old Mac 2009 with OSX 10.11.6 and JDK 8u102. I created
groups with 1000, then 2000, then 4000, then 10000 members (both groupOfNames
with member attributes and posixGroup with memberUid attributes), and I can all
of them open in the entriy editor. The one with 10000 members takes some
seconds to show, but it works.
What I noticed is that when I play with the Quick filter
(https://directory.apache.org/studio/users-guide/ldap_browser/tools_table_entry_editor_features.html#tools_table_entry_editor_quickfilter)
sometimes the color ball appears an it takes 20 seconds to apply the filter.
Do you have activated the quick filter?
Nevertheless I did one significant improvement, see DIRSTUDIO-1121, more to
follow.
