Emmanuel Lecharny commented on DIRSERVER-2217:
----------------------------------------------
Ok, can you do another thing :
{{sudo lsof -i :389}}
and
{{sudo lsof -i :636}}
and copy the result ?
Otherwise, there is something that is problematic with the current version of
ApacheDS when installed on Mac OSX {{Sierra/High Sierra}} is that it installs
the binary in {{/usr/bin}} instead of {{/usr/local/bin}}. This is something we
will change in the next version. There is a way to workaround the problem
without having to move the packages and change the scripts, check on

> Unable to start the ApacheDS server on any reserved ports. Error message is
> always: "The ports of the following protocols are already in use." Confirmed
> repeatability on brand new OS X Sierra Virtual Machine with only JVM 8 and
> Directory Studio installed. Started application with sudo doesn't resolve
> the issue.
