Regarding the untrusted certificate: What exact error message do you get?
Regarding the certificate reset error in the preferences: Can you please check
for errors and stack traces in the "Error Log" view or in the log file
(~/.ApacheDirectoryStudio/.metadata/.log)
Regarding the Java version: Since 2.0.0.M16 Java 11 is required, that's also
mentioned at the download pages, e.g.
https://directory.apache.org/studio/download/download-linux.html
Regarding replace mode for modifications: Correct, the default behavior changed
in 2.0.0.M16, please see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-744
