Downloaded apacheds-2.0.0.AM26.exe and installed. Pointed the Java reference
to C:\Program Files\AdoptOpenJDK\jdk-11.0.11.9-hotspot\bin. At end of
installation, selected "Start Service".
Checked the Service in Task Manager, and it was Stopped. Tried to Start but it
wouldn't.
Checked for logs in Windows Event Viewer, but it looks like ApacheDS doesn't
log there. No idea where it might have logs.
Opened "Manage ApacheDS" and tried to start from the "Services" window.

Rebooted my computer and tried again, same result.
