An application borrows a pooled connection (Validating factory — the one the
pool's convenience constructors install), calls _extended(new
StartTlsRequestImpl())_ to secure the channel, and returns the connection.
Passivation skips the *TLS* cleanup; the next borrower receives a session that
already has an _SslFilter_ — its own *StartTLS* attempt gets _operationsError_,
and pool state diverges from configuration.
