Hello,

This subject has been brought up before, and I'd like to bring it up
again. That is, having a set of Extras to complement OOo. They would
include clipart, photos, templates, and possibly macros.

Last time this was brought was in the context of the CDROM distribution.
But I'm thinking that it could also be distributed as a download. The
usual argument is that it shouldn't be included in the standard download
due to size constraints. But here's a thought: What if we make it a
separate download.

Suppose: You go to download OOo. Go to the usual web form where you select
your OS, language, etc. This takes you to the page with the two buttons:
"Continue to Download" and "Contribute"

Right here, on this page, we could have either a link or a button to
"Download Extras". Perhaps a link next to it titled "What's this?" which
explains what's in the package.

This is a simple way to let people download a good quantity of extras to
improve OOo. It's easy to use, easy to find. And it doesn't impose an
undue burden on dialup users.

What do you think?

Cheers,
