Hi,

[I am not sure about the appropriateness of the two lists I'm crossposting for this -- I seem to see a lot of overlap between them so I feel it might be appropriate on both. Please let me know if this is not a good assumption. Thanks.]

The metalink links on the P2P download page are not updated for 3.0 yet. In addition, http://openoffice.mirrorbrain.org/ has all the metalinks, live and automatically updated. Thus, I suggest to link to them from the
  http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/
or
  http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/magnet.html
page.

In the same way that the little "chooser" there offers links to .torrent files, it could offer links to the .metalink files on openoffice.mirrorbrain.org.

Alternativele, a simple pointer to http://openoffice.mirrorbrain.org/ might already help some users.

What do you think?

There is also http://borft.student.utwente.nl/~mike/oo/ with a similar chooser. (Mike from utwente.nl posted about it to [EMAIL PROTECTED]) If I better understand how the mapping from products to download filenames works, I could possibly come up with a similar chooser for the metalinks. But since it just needs a different file ending, it should be much easier to add this feature to one of the existing choosers.

Peter
