Hi,
thanks a lot! This change is mainly an administrative one, i.e. giving
me more permissions in the project to maintain users and mailing lists.
Most work is carried out in the subprojects -- especially by Tora,
Joost, Christian, Alex and others, and I'm very thankful to have them on
board! They do far more daily work than I do. ;-)
Next major step for distribution is the change to a new mirroring tool
called MirrorBrain, which is currently in evaluation.

Hi all,
I'd like to announce the appointment of Florian Effenberger as co-lead
to the Distribution Project. As you are all doubtless aware, Florian
more than merits this appointment, as he has been one of the most active
members in the various lists.
As co-lead, he becomes a project owner, and can thus act swiftly on
admin duties, as well as help shape the direction and nature of the
project. Distribution Project is sort of a meta-project, and gathers
within it a lot of more or less disparate efforts, but they have in
common similar policies and also needs. Florian (and I) will be able to
address those more efficiently now.
Please join me in welcoming Florian to his new role!
