Not directly, because MirrorBrain is not about collecting statistics in
the first place, being a download redirector, and not a log analyzer.

Log analysis is an orthogonal task. And while it makes sense to count
downloads from a central place (the feasibility of which was a design
goal in MirrorBrain), MirrorBrain doesn't have a built-in log analysis
feature, and in particular no such feature specialized for OOo's file
tree and its setup regarding localized versions. Such a feature could
not be hard-wired, at least not in a way that would prevent other
organizations from deploying MirrorBrain as well. MB aims to be modular
and generically useful, and not tied to one particular site.

That said, if the question is: will we be able to implement good, live,
detailed logging in _conjunction_ with MirrorBrain? Then the answer is a
clear yes.

I have written up a concept for collecting downlaod statistics here:
http://mirrorbrain.org/download-statistics/
It should fit your expectations pretty well.
What do you think about it?

The implementation would seem generic enough for being used by others,
too.
Your comments would be appreciated!

Yes.
