Hi Jacqueline
(sorry that I didn't manage yet to reply to the offlist e-mails, but I
try to follow-up asap)
However, GoPC.net's OpenOffice.org offering does not fit the current
Distribution Projects. With GoPC, OpenOffice.org is a hosted service,
and available to anyone with an internet connection. See:
https://www.gopc.net/blog/2009/11/04/openoffice-org-everywhere/ and
https://www.gopc.net/products/openofficeorg
I was wondering if there had been any previous discussion about a
'Hosted' category within the Distribution Project?
There are various companies offering OpenOffice.org or
OpenOffice.org-based solutions as a hosted service, so a compilation of
these would be great.
However, I'm not sure if the distribution project is the right place.
For quite a while I was thinking of compiling a list of various services
and solutions for OpenOffice.org - not only hosted, but also installable
software as well as web services and frameworks. Sadly, no one did pick
the idea up yet, and so it hasn't been realized.
Your e-mail might be a chance to pick up this topic again. ;-) What do
others on this list think?
Florian
