The change to mirrorbrain would probably be trivial, especially if mike's system started pulling from the mirrorbrain core instead, since I'm pretty sure all three of our trackers pull from mike's setup in one way or another.
And either type or rsync (push or pull) is better than the load generated from an http based operation for this. Fine tuning the upload process on the tracker side right now will need some work. I can set up the cronjobs to run at more frequent intervals down to probably 10-15 minutes (currently at an hour), and manually run them if they're needed more often than that. The tracker allowed directory parse is currently at 30 minutes on my system, but can be shortened if necessary as well.
