Hi Andy,

On the web page "other.html" there is a link to "Report broken links". Most of these messages are coming from people that are not subscribed to this list, so I see and approve them to be sent to the list. As I always do I send a short reply to the user to let them know that the message has been approved for the list. Today I received a message from one such user wanting his address removed from the message. I informed them that it could not be removed.

I'm really very sorry for the many extra work you have at the moment.

It is not the "extra work". I get far more messages that just get deleted. I was not complaining, just letting those that have access to the web site for editing that it could be a problem. A simple "Be aware that the address is to a mailing list" would let people know that the message will be archived forever before they send it.

OK, I can add 1-2 sentences about this to the section.

With that as background I would like to suggest that some type of addition be made to let users know that any message is sent to a mailing list and not to anyone person.

I've deactivated the section for the moment. It doesn't make sense as it's always the same message but we cannot change the situation.

Agree but something should be done to fix the problem, not hid it.

Of course, however my point of view is to test and release these builds. It's only about the Windows and Linux 32-bit RPM version with and without the included JRE.

When testing the wJRE build and it was successful, then it should be easy to do a simplier test for the nonJRE build as it is same than the other, just without the Java part. Just a bit more time for testing is needed for the additional build.

But others have a different opinion about this topic. ;-)

One more thing, who do I need to ask about being removed from the moderator position?

Honesty, I've no idea how this is organized on the mailing lists.

Please, may I ask you to wait a bit more and to rethink your request? I'm really confident that these kind of messages will go away when the new realease calms down and some specific builds are published.

Floeff was in charge when I was made a moderator. All I am looking for right now is a name and address. I will stay with it for a couple more months but the time is coming when someone will have to take over. I have plans that by mid year I will be moving and not have time to do it properly any more.

Maybe Stefan can help, so he should know about this change in the near future.

Best regards

Marcus
