Hi folks, I worked with Sally to define a plan that will help us give visibility to the work the D&I committee is doing. This plan is an overview of what we want to achieve and as tasks come up I'll be adding them to JIra.
For now, I'll take the lead on this to work closely with Sally, and will reach out when I need help. Thanks, G _________________________________________________________ *Outline * We can work in two main items: 1) The Message: - *Be clear with the Intention* - What do we mean by inclusion, diversity, etc.? - What is there for you? grow community, better project sustainability - *Share that we have an objective* - Share Goals, mission and vision statements - *Produce content* Produce publications, blog posts, resources, reports, etc. 2) A dissemination plan: - We need to have a representation everywhere the ASF goes: events (FOSDEM for example), publications, reports, PR announcements, etc. - Milestone announcements -- when projects deliver results, we should share them broadly - We should use the ASF Twitter, and other social media accounts -- if we have things to share, we can leverage these channels We can do this in three stages: - 1) Socialize committee's formation, mission, vision, values, goals Socialize among the membership, open for input during 30 days (town hall it), open to discussion in Berlin 2) Socialize projects Bring visibility into the ongoing projects, presenting their working groups and timelines 3) Share findings and results
