Thanks Ain. I downloaded and installed the m77 build (couldn't find m78) and that one also has OOo base listed as a seperate topic.
Leaves me with one more question. Does Sun still use Adabas in StarOffice or did will they switch to OOo Base?
Hi,
in m78 the StarOffice Base (OOo Base) module is listed as a separate module in the drop down box of the help viewer.
Base is the name of the module to access databases, like Writer is the name of the module to access text documents, and so on.
Adabas is the name of a database application that is bundled and installed together with StarOffice, but not with OOo. However, you can download Adabas from their web site and install it on any computer. And then, you have read access to your Adabas data souces from inside OOo like you can do it from inside StarOffice. May be you even can change records, I did not test it. The only difference (AFAIK) is that OOo has no dialog to create a new database using Adabas, you must create new databases using SQL commands.
