We do that in the documentation project and have done for some time. THe only thing I see being offered by OOoAuthors that is not available here is the wiki and the CC licensing that limits what can be put on the main site. Other than that you are welcome to contribute here and/or your NLC.
For the record, the only "limits" on files from OOoAuthors is that .sxw files (under the CC license) cannot be put on the main OOo site, but PDF files can be put there, and links can be provided to the source files at OOoAuthors.
I think most readers of the translated docs will want the PDFs, so this is not much of a limitation. Anyone who wants the source files can get them from the OOoAuthors site.
