I would do it, but I don't have privileges on user-faq,
only on docs. Hmmm... perhaps I should get involved at user-faq
too, as there is a lot of overlap in subject matter between
user-faq and docs, and user-faq is where the Authors mailing list
lives. Okay, I've just put in my request for project membership.
Regarding the links that need fixing, and in general, I think it
would be good to direct people to a specific document at Docs (if
one exists that addresses the question), not to the main Docs
page. Being sent to the main Docs page means people need to
decide whether to look in "how-to's" or "user guides" or
whatever, and the amount of searching to find what they want can
be very off-putting.
In the case of the questions "Is there an introductory document
for Writer?" and "What is the best way to format my documents?"
a direct link to the Manuals page would probably be most useful.
People can then quickly scan the list of chapters on Writer for
something that sounds relevant to their situation.
BTW, the replacement chapter for the one that's no longer at
http://www.math.umd.edu/~dcarrera/openoffice/docs/Chapters/Styles.pdf
is this one, titled "Introduction to Styles" --
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors/IntroStyles.pdf
Cheers, Jean

Hello,
That page needs to be updated, and references to OpenOffice.org
documentation that is finished should point to the Documentation
project, <http://documentation.openoffice.org/>.
I'm cc'ing the relevant project leads to resolve this...
Meanwhile, go to te Documentation Project linked above.
Best,
Louis

Have a look at this
document<http://www.math.umd.edu/%7Edcarrera/openoffice/docs/
Chapters/Styles.pdf>.
you wind up at
http://www.math.umd.edu/~dcarrera/openoffice/docs/Chapters/Styles.pdf
and it says
You have requested a non-existent page in the Math Department web
site.<snip>
