I have forwarded your message to the list. I am sure soneone can guide you to tasks that need help.
As to the style guide and templates, they are kept at http://documentation.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList -------- Forwarded Message -------- From: Charlie Mesa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: G. Roderick Singleton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: We have four new members Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2006 00:14:53 +0800 Hi Roderick, Below is a short introduction. I apologize for not responding promptly, I have been real busy with work. You mentioned the link, http://tinyurl.com/ohdbn for the tasks, how am going to go about this. How do I grab a topic and write about it? Also, do we have a style guide we follow for the documentation. If you have a link, where i can start, please send it my way. I am so excited to start writing. Thanks. charlie Born in one of the 7,000 plus group of islands named Philippines, willing and accompanied with unswerving allegiance to the open source community, humbly introduce thyself, Charlie H. Mesa to the vast and diverse world of open source. My that was a long sentence. Hope no grammar expert sees that! In any case, I studied here in my homeland. Took up college (Accountancy) in Cebu, one of the busiest islands in the group of the seven thousand plus. Currently, I am working with AccountMate, an accounting software company which is catering mostly to mainland US clients. AccountMate's presence can also be felt in South Africa, Canda, Australia, Hongkong, Indonesia, and others. Do not forget the Philippines, of course. When I started with the company, i mostly did documentation. Online Help and Electronic Manual. After that I had a brief glimpse of the United States. I was sent to the US headquarters of AccountMate to handle phone support. Went back, to my lovely little island where it's mostly sunny, the Philippines. Here, I am currently head over heels with e-mail support. Before I worked with AccountMate, I worked as a Technical Support Representative for a call center hired by Dell. Handling support calls for corporate laptops and desktops. No servers though. I don't know, but they look the same to me!? This of course was my most enjoyable work experience. Imagine talking to hundreds of billions of people. Plus, I get to practice my English. During my free time I mostly surf the net, read books, watch movies, malling, jog, bike, read a book, and others. I particularly am interested in Open Source and Linux. Oh, I almost forgot, I love watching anime. I intend to contribute, even a little bit to the open source community through writing and later, hopefully, programming. I would think that is just about it, otherwise you would be bored. On 9/26/06, G.
