I notice there is no direct link from the Documentation Project's first page to the HOW_TO page. (I would expect to find it in the "Download Documentation" section.) Is this an oversight, or is it deliberate, perhaps because so much of the material there is out of date, being for OOo1.1 and sometimes not applying to 2.x?
Yes. The Howto section desperately needs a cleanup. The valid Howtos need to be moved to the wiki. I started to do that, hence I link to the wiki, not the web. I admit I haven't come very far. http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Project_DocOOo_Structure#HOW_TO shows the list and status of the howtos. I could add a link to ther homepage stating that some of the howtos may be outdated. I just need time to move them. Sigh. Volunteers? Anyone? :-) Frank
