Hi,

in the last days I moved another Howto to the wiki:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DE/How_Tos/Erste_Schritte_in_Impress2
(not yet completely finished; some graphics are to big)

It is the original german version of "First Steps in Impress 2" that
I put about three weeks ago into the wiki. The
mediawiki-export-filter worked much better for most of the grafics
inside this de-howto, because they are hyperlinked. But there are
some problems with the export of text. At the beginning of the
exported text there was a paragraph that hasn't been there in the
original odt. And all the notes inside the original-odt was
exported. So I had to delete them and proofread the text again.
For the first problem I opened an Issue where you could find the
export-file:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82947

As you could see the de-howto inside the wiki is designed with
special infos (tips and hints) with grey background. To do this
inside the wiki I had to do a lot of manual work (inside OOo it is
a very fast work).
So I was actual not very empressed about the potential of the wiki.
Many things had to be done manually. You had to know many things
about manual formating (graphics for example). I think the wiki
without a graphical user interface (for every common formating
operation) is not the best way to get more new documentation about
OOo. I would prefer to try another framework: plone. It provides
many things which are missed in the wiki. And there are a lot of
people working on documentation, which have experience with that
framework.

Regards,
Andreas
