Mariano, I have been looking at the outline for the Base Guide,
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Base_Guide/Planning
and Chapter 2 sounds very much like Part I of your draft tutorial that I
commented on yesterday. Here is what the outline says:
----------
Chapter 2: Planning/designing your database
(I haven’t worked out the outline for this chapter yet, but I think it
should contain these topics.)
2.1 Flat and relational databases
2.2 Data types (Default and HSQL datatypes—as given by Drew)
2.3 Key
2.4 Other basic theory-type topics needed when planning/designing?
2.5 Introduce example(s) to be used in the book (flat d/b and a relational
one)?
----------
See also the Discussion tab of that wiki page for elaboration by Drew
(scroll down a bit to find Drew's comments).
Since we have a serious shortage of writers available to work on the Base
Guide, I would like to reuse as much as I can from other sources in the OOo
community, revising the borrowed material as needed. So I am thinking that
what you and Drew are working on for the tutorial would make a really good
start to this chapter. What do you think?
Drew, would like your comments on this too.
