No, I don't think we have enough of that type of documentation.
The application help just covers the very basics. Look for the index
word "CTL" in the installed help, for example, or search for "Asian"
keyword.
This certainly is not sufficient information if someone wants to know
how to write in different writing systems. Let's say you want to provide
a booklet with a list of similar proverbs in English, Chinese, and
Hebrew. How? Where to start?
When I search the OOo Wiki or the manuals, I cannot find much help, too.
Together we can change this. That is, if we agree we need that information.

Yes, I think we need that information.
Jonathon Blake wrote a document titled OOo in a Multi-Lingual
Environment, but I don't know where the latest iteration is located, or
indeed if Jonathon has updated it. An older version, for OOo1.x (.sxw
files) is on the OOoAuthors website.

A note from Jonathon on the [users] list, dated 19 Aug 2008, says it is
"the most recent publicly released version... written for... OOo 1.1.4".
As I recall, the document was extremely detailed and thus rather heavy
going for most readers, but potentially valuable as reference material
(if updated for OOo 3). Jonathon has done an outstanding job pulling all
of that info together.
Shorter, more tutorial, docs would also be useful.
I can see at least three important requirements:
1) An expanded summary of what's available and how to use it, with
pointers to more detailed info if/when that is available. Include tips
like the one you have in your blog about the need to change various
settings in Calc when you change locale.
2) Guides or tutorials in various languages explaining things specific
to writing in those languages.
3) Guides for people who write in more than one language or writing
system within one document.

It would be a big task to do properly, but starting with some bite-sized
chunks would be a big help and might encourage other people to add other
chunks. "A journey of a thousand kilometres begins with a single step."
