Al,
I just looked at your questions. The PDFs of the OOo3 user guides
produced by OOoAuthors are designed for reading side-by-side onscreen,
not for printing.
Some (most?) PDF viewers have options for displaying them side-by-side
in the correct sequence (odd numbered pages on the right, even numbered
on the left), though which options to choose is a bit obscure at times.
I'm not sure about the printing, though.
Another possibility for printing is to use the PDFs that I am creating
for the printed copies of the books, which will be for sale through
http://stores.lulu.com/opendocument. These PDFs will also be free
downloads, but they will be in grayscale, not colour. The one for the
Getting Started guide should be available later this week.
You can get the editable versions of the user guides and their
individual chapters from the OOoAuthors website,
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide3/ug3_published/
I will soon be updating the page on the Documentation Project's website
to point to the location of the editable files, which wasn't available
until yesterday. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Please feel free to post this information on the threads you reference
above.
