Apparently, those changes came in by error. So we need to evaluate
how that happened and how it can be prevented in the future. Accusing
co-contributors of being malicious or inconsiderate will certainly
not facilitate this effort.

Even such simple action on the part of QA rep would stopping this from
getting into m57.
Again, apparently something went wrong with these files and we
will look into what actually caused this.
Of course, such simple test would not locate errors that are happening
lately when <emph></emph> and other tags get "granulated" - split into
several tags even if that is not necessary. Like (this is not an
actual error I found, just a schematic example):
<emph>Save as</emph> -> <emph>Save </emph><emph><emph>as ...</emph>
Usually happens with a bit longer texts, probably an editor software
with support for tag recognition and correction finds a string split
into several lines (although it isn't) and auto-corrects by adding
starting/closing tags.
The editor used for the help is actually OOo. Unfortunately, it seems
like it leaves residual tag fragments when deleting tag content, or
does not merge tags on adjacent content. For the future we need
to implement more checks or normalization steps to make sure that
this doesn't happen. Using CVS for documentation content doesn't
work very well by principle, after all.
Anyhow, we need to find some mitigation for this. What options do we
have assuming that extending the l10n deadline is not one of it?
Can you provide a list of all files that contain these
errors and that have not been localized, so we can see whether
we can rollback the changes there (but not at places that you
already localized) for the next (and for 3.2 final) help CWS
hcshared23.
After this release, we should try to find out how we can clean
up the help content from those errors in all languages without
retranslation.
