Rationale is that there are still deep links to this faq which has been
unmaintained for at least two years and is thus outdated (content and
presentation).
Whatever still deep links there after two years deserves no better than
a redirect.
As long as the mailing list for OOoAuthors (and, most importantly, its
archives) isn't lost, then I agree with shutting down or redirecting
everything else at user-faq. All other content is obsolete.
