Hi Jacques and Chris, If SCALAR_REPLACEMENT fails, should drill just fall back (by setting SCALAR_REPLACEMENT_OPTION = try)?
The default behavior for now is that query will just fail if SCALAR_REPLACEMENT does not work. A case can be found at here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-3854
