Hi Chin Wei, DRILL-2470 is tracking the enhancement to add SMALLINT but I agree that we should in the interim treat it as INT32...can you file a JIRA for that ? For Hive tables, we had added support to treat SMALLINT as INT32 but need to do the same for Parquet.
