Drill 1.13.0 Release
* We discussed the proposed scope and timeline for the 1.13.0 release
(early March 2018).
* Preliminary Scope
* Drill on YARN - PR is in apache (done by Paul) and needs to be
reviewed by Salim, Vlad
* Log file format and Excel Plugin - Charles is working on couple of new
plugins - will share on dev@
* Calcite upgrade to 1.15 is already committed
* Spill To Disk support for Hash Join - Boaz and Tim are in development
- the design was already published - will discuss it in the next hangout as
well.
* Drill Decimal type support - Vova has published the doc - will be
discussed in the next Hangout
* Spnego feature testing - it's already committed (developed by Sindhuri
and Sorabh) - needs more testing
* Graceful shutdown feature - it's already committed in 1.12 (Jyothsna)
- needs additional testing/ address bugs
* Initial improvement for batch size done by Padma (starting with
Flatten operator).
* Additional testing/ bug fixes for Kafka plugin (contributed by Anil)
* Vlad to open JIRA's for improvement in the RPC area/ connection area
* Upgrade Parquet Library, Java 8
* Need a volunteer for the 1.13 release manager . Charles volunteered for
1.14 release
