Dear Jun Liu,
I hope you're doing well. My name is Eslam Samy, and I’m a Computer Engineering
student from Egypt and an aspiring backend developer with experience in Java
and Spring Boot. I’m very interested in contributing to Apache Dubbo through
Google Summer of Code 2025, particularly the Service Discovery project.
I’ve been exploring Dubbo and working on a small project to familiarize myself
with its concepts. The Service Discovery project caught my attention because of
its focus on well-organized logs, actuator endpoints, and tooling
improvements—topics I have some experience with and would love to learn more
about. While I have basic knowledge of microservice architectures, I’m eager to
deepen my understanding through hands-on contributions.
To better prepare for GSoC, I’d love to start contributing early and I wanted
to ask a few questions about getting started. Are there any specific tasks or
assessments required from GSoC participants? Additionally, are there any key
topics I should study to better prepare for this project? Also, what’s the best
way to get started contributing to Apache Dubbo?
I’m excited about the opportunity to learn from the Apache Dubbo community and
contribute meaningfully to this project. Thank you for your time and guidance—I
really appreciate any advice you can share.
Best regards,
Eslam Samy
