Stack overflow would work. I personally prefer having all the issues be part of the project, that way the issues can be resolved/closed by having an answer + adding it to the documentation. It's easier for the community if answers are already in the documentation rather than having to search another website like stack overflow.
My personal opinion is that Stack Overflow would be easier to surface questions and answers vs a mailing list. As GitLab has grown, we've added more channels for people to ask questions but majority of the developers answer questions that are created in the project issues rather than Stack Overflow, Gitter, Forums..etc On Sun, Feb 24, 2019 at 1:00 AM Kevin A.
