The patch is ok directionally but it looked like in progress work and some key
components missing. I have left some comments on the review board. There are
couple of things which are broken in the existing system g. error handling,
tests and documentation. You don't have to follow the existing implementation
for them and have the freedom and opportunity to redesign them.
