Narayan Periwal commented on FALCON-1687:
-----------------------------------------
The maven archetype is a recommended structure for Falcon projects. It also
allows users to quickly create a Falcon Maven project using the archetype. The
archetype follows certain build, definition and test guidelines (present in the
archetype as samples) using which the user can easily create their Falcon
artifacts. Consider the archetype as a "sample" Falcon maven project.
The directory structure that is followed is a recommendation. Of course, its
not mandatory to follow the same structure, it depends on the way users want to
organize their pipeline. The archetype will provide the users one good way of
creating and maintaining a pipeline.
Also, as mentioned before, one major benefits of the archetype is it will also
expose users how to test their pipeline through Falcon Unit.
