I have tested it on pull request # 13 and the JIRA api separately with
FALCON-1770.
I also felt that it is not the best way to do this but I delayed it to future
because of couple of observations.
1) It is not mandatory to set this, if you are uncomfortable with it. The
script will not update the JIRA but rest of the script will function properly.
2) A potential drawback of keying in password is that there are chances of
typos and we will need to configure retries.
For now, I have enhanced it to get username and password from command line if
it is not set in environment. I haven't yet configured retries, if a user
enters wrong password, the script will fail and will not update the JIRA issue.
