Hi, I have exactly the same problem as described previously on this list (felix is started within an applet, but it fails to load, due to an linkageError):

I can start the application successfully with the java appletviewer, but as soon as I try to run it inside the browser (Firefox 1.5.0.12 on KUbuntu 6.06 with Java 1.6.0_02), it fails to load (with exactly the exception as mentioned in the linked message above).
