Attached is a patch that uses () for grouping and $() for evaluation.
Note that while writing this patch, I've also slightly enhanced the way
parameters are evaluted: i.e. if there is an expansion caused by $() or ${},
the result, if a string, is reparsed and split again into arguments. This was
required for some tests to succeed.
